Queen's Day!

I think Queen's Day is my new favorite holiday.  It's too bad that this was probably the only time in all of my life that I'll get to celebrate it.  The holiday is celebrated on the current queen of the Netherland's mother's birthday, April 30.  As a gift to her subjects, all taxes on sold items are suspended, which means that everything is for sale and everyone hauls all their junk out hoping that someone will buy it.  In the central city park there is the largest flea market I have ever been to; each family just bring a blanket and their stuff to sell!  This made garage sale shopping look like the most inefficient prospect in the world.  Not to brag or anything, but here's what we got (prices in Euros):

1 Stokke Tripp Trap high chair, a bit worn (well, a lot, but still perfectly serviceable)--4.50
3 really cute skirts (one of them is in the picture)--6.50
2 wood toys that look nearly new--2.00
1 full grain leather bag--5.00
6 skeins of sock yarn--3.00

I was pretty pleased with it all!  We all really enjoyed the day out in the park and the weather was perfect!
